I was checking here and there improving and editing my Website to a higher quality level. Before finding WordPress benefits, I struggled a lot in the making of a brand new website of my own.

In this article, I want to show you how I had my first crunch of the juicy bite of WordPress Editor at Wealthy Affiliate, and why you should be doing it too, by revealing 3 awesome aspects that will not make you sleep for a while. Haha…Lol 🙂

In the absence of a guide, doing it was like the Parable of the 2 blind men leading one another who both fell into a pit together due to the lack of sight.

Firstly, watch the video walk-through to keep you well- acquainted using the CMS(Content Management Software) system.

Without further rambling, let’s see what’s WordPress Editor?

The term WordPress Editor is a pre-defined user role in the WordPress user management system. Users with the editor role have the potential to write, edit, publish, and delete articles.

This includes articles written by other users. You, as a user, can moderate, approve or delete comments. How cool is this!

Your privileges extend beyond just adding and removing content. You can also manage categories, tags, custom taxonomies, and even upload files.

A user with Editor privileges also has the ability to read private posts and pages. The Administrator user role has more privileges than the Editor user role.

Only the administrator user can access WordPress settings, installing themes and plugins. In others words, you can manage content and even delete it, but other users cannot perform site management tasks.

User Role

A user role defines permissions for users to perform a group of tasks. By default, WordPress installation has some predefined roles with a predefined set of permissions.

These roles may break up as Administrator, Editor, Author, Contributor, and Subscriber. The Admin has the highest level of access while the subscriber has the least.

The subscriber role only allows the user to read posts but not write anything.  The Contributor can write posts but not publish them.

The author role can write and publish their own posts while Editors can do the same for their own posts as well as others. The administrator has access to all administration features within a single site.

Subscriber Role

A subscriber refers to a user role in WordPress. The subscriber user role has very limited capabilities. The subscriber role allows users to login to a WordPress website and leave comments without having to enter their details.

A subscriber can make leaving comments on a blog much easier and faster. The subscriber role can also be used to deliver additional content to users such as newsletter or access to the pages and posts.

Subscriber may also be referred to a user who has subscribed to a website using an RSS feed or mailing list, or any other feature like receiving updates.

Author Role

The author refers to a predefined user role. A user with author role can upload files, write, edit, publish and delete their own articles. They can also edit their profile and change their passwords. You, as a webmaster, is the author.
